About Us

Gally's Meeting House is owned and operated by Garry and Sally Fieldhouse. The building is an 1880's heritage site, consisting of a purpose built function complex for events or conferences, a charming bed and breakfast accommodation, and a country café. The business is also home to Daisy's Vintage & Classic Cars, and tours are available of the renowned Clare Valley region and beyond.

Gally's opened its doors in 2008 as a venue for conferences and events. Today, the entity now facilitates four businesses under the one umbrella, all housed in the beautiful old building, located on the main street in Farrell Flat.

Garry and Sally Fieldhouse started converting the original 1880s heritage building into a conference and function venue in 2006. By 2008, the renovations were completed, ready for the commencement of business in October. The collection of historic buildings have been lovingly restored to offer you a venue with historic ambience.

Whether it's a destination to stay and rest, a place to hire for a work conference, a private event, or somewhere to grab a bite to eat, Gally's Meeting House is the perfect place to enjoy the Clare Valley. Ideally located between Burra, Clare and Mintaro, Gally's Meeting House is the middle ground of the region.

History

Gallys Meeting House is steeped in history and heritage charm. The building originally housed a bustling general store for the locals and tourists or workers stepping off the train at Farrell Flat station when travelling to Adelaide or Broken Hill.

The general store has now been converted into a function space, catering for up to 30 people with very little change to the original Baltic pine lined structure or fittings. Two other stone buildings on site have been incorporated into the complex as accommodation, adding two double bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms.

A third large space was then built joining the old complex of buildings and the house. This building uses exposed beams and natural lighting to form a large function space, capable of seating 75 people. The room's design compliments the historic nature of the buildings already on site and includes a commercial kitchen and toilet facilities, as well as a magnificent entrance foyer lit by skylights and stained glass windows.

The historic ambience, coupled with modern conveniences provides a peaceful, private feel, appealing to the stories of the yesteryear.
